Sakura

Stunning pink Cherry blossoms, aka Sakura, are beautiful but fleeting, blooming for only around two or three weeks. In California, the second largest producer of cherries behind Washington State, typically bloom between mid-February to early April. Cherry trees (Prunus avium L.) are not self-pollinating, and honey bees are the main pollinator. Farmers know that two compatible varieties of cherries, say the Bing and Brook, planted or grafted in each orchard at a ratio of 9 to 1 significantly boost the harvest.
