First time mother - Kieran Gonsalves (c) 2025

She wore her hat, kept it nice 'n low
Test was positive, she’s thrilled to the core
Her heart is afire, her face all aglow,
Her eyes are teary ... emotions start to flow
Terror of untold joy, new life doth endow 
And questions ... ten thousand maybe more
The circle of life … it turns once more
Borne of pure love, only a mother can know

Footnote: Primigravida refers to a woman who is pregnant for the first time. It is a Latin term used in obstetrics derived from ‘primi’ meaning first and ‘gravid’ meaning pregnant.

The painting always come first, sometimes it inspires a poem but that’s never premeditated
This one was so raw, I got teary putting it together

My homage to Azulejos - the striking white and blue ceramic tiles of Portugal.  The name 'azulejos' is derived from the Arabic word 'al zuleique', which means “little polished stone”.   Pope Leo XIV On Thursday, May 8, 2025, the Conclave of 133 Roman Catholic Cardinals elected a new Pope for 1.4 billion faithful, the  267th in the line of Pontiffs that dates back to St Peter, who was handpicked by Jesus Christ himself. [ Matthew 16:18 ] Before he was elected Pope Leo XIV, Chicago-born Cardinal Robert Frost Prevost spent  much of his life outside the United States.
