Art Imitating Life
Art imitating Life
Original artwork and poem by Kieran Gonsalves (c) 2025
Aft a dreary winter tulips are the harbingers of spring
Bursting forth with reckless abandon, joy they bring
Their splash of color, an antidote to the winter freeze
Fresh as the morning dew, cool as a monsoon breeze
Philippides at Marathon was done telling the news
So too these tulips, just as fast, bid us adieu
“Fret not”, said the artist, “Beauty be’t evanescent”
But art imitating life, make’t incandescent
