Annointing of the Sick

Seven Blessed Sacraments - #7 Annointing of the Sick

This original series of artwork, titled "Seven Blessed Sacraments" in cloisonné-style painting,  is one of my most comprehensive works to date. It was inspired by the stained glass windows at St Simon's Catholic Church in Los Altos, California, that depict the important aspects of each of the seven sacraments in the style of stained glass.

The Anointing of the Sick is one of the sacraments of healing that unites the suffering of the sick person to Christ’s Passion, for their good and the good of the whole Church.

Instituted by Christ (James 5:14–15) himself, it provides moral courage, peace, and strength to overcome the difficulties of serious illness or old age.

This sacrament can be repeated if the person recovers and falls ill again, or if illness worsens

This work came out the way it did only through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit
I know what I stsrted eith but the uncanny symmetry and the adherence to the Catechism of the Catholic Church was sheer inspiration
I was humbled and amazed at how it came together
It’s still August 15th so to release it on the Feast of the Assumption is such an incredible gift - Kieran

That's so nice to hear (read). The gifts of the Holy Spirit are truly great. I can see your life and being so much close to Him and filled with His gifts, esp when I see it in the whole family, as you have mentioned it in the past ... 🙌🙏 - (Reply also on WhatsApp to above comment)
