Seven Blessed Sacraments - #4 Confirmation

This original series of artwork, titled "Seven Blessed Sacraments" in cloisonné-style painting,  is one of my most comprehensive works to date. It was inspired by the stained glass windows at St Simon's Catholic Church in Los Altos, California, that depict the important aspects of each of the seven sacraments in the style of stained glass.

The Sacrament of Confirmation strengthens baptismal grace, roots the person more deeply in their identity as a child of God, unites them more firmly to Christ, increases the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and bonds them more closely to the Church.

Soon after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, at Pentecost, the Apostles received the fullness of the Spirit and then conferred it by the laying on of hands - this formed the basis of this sacrament
