Banff in Spring
Banff in Spring
Original watercolor painting and poem by Kieran Gonsalves (c) 2026, reminiscent of how we longed for the snow to thaw to rediscover the magical trails of Banff National Park outside Calgary, Canada
Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada is truly magical during the spring snow-melt.
Ice-cold streams awash with deep turquoise glacial silt that looks oh so very svelte!
Ice-cold streams awash with deep turquoise glacial silt that looks oh so very svelte!
Right on cue brilliant wildflowers drape the steep banks of the swift flowing streams.
The soft sweet aroma of pine trees with its first-fruit sprigs, is the stuff of dreams!
You stop to close your eyes and take a deep breath, and soon the water rapids seduce you.
The gentle fragrance of wildflowers mingle with resinous pines to wash away all your blues!
Bow Falls trails in Banff, were always a welcome respite from the icy grip of winter for us.
There was no better way to enjoy God's wondrous creation, everything else seems superfluous.
