Hourglass

 Carpe Diem

Artwork and pensive verse by Kieran Gonsalves (c) 2026

Each day starts like a blank page gifted to all of us, whether rich and poor
You can waste it away or grab the opportunities, c'est la vie de rigueur!

The hourglass focuses the mind on 'memento mori’ or time is running out.
With each passing moment the sand drains cautioning against fooling about.

When the top is empty you simply turn it over and the cycle repeats again…
Suggesting a second kick at the can, so take the plunge say the wise men!

Live in the moment, don't overthink the future or fret about the past.
Enjoy each day for what it brings because even this moment will not last.
