Wildflowers

 Wildflowers

Original watercolor and ode by Kieran Gonsalves (c) 2026,  in recognition of invaluable Wildflowers

Native wildflowers are ecology’s crucial link, the intangible.
Just because they are familiar doesn’t mean they ain’t invaluable!

Having co-evolved with pollinators and insects they complete the cycle of life.
On some, insects lay their eggs, on others, bees and butterflies thrive.

They prevent soil erosion and rejuvenate the soil ever so effectively.
Giving each location a unique character,  individually and collectively!

So next time you come across a splash of color amidst a craggy rock.
Stop to soak in nature’s delightful treat, take a selfie or simply gawk.
