Crystal

 Magical Crystal Glassware

Artwork and original poem by Kieran Gonsalves (c) 2026, inspired by a Waterford Crystal Bowl acquired in Cork, Ireland several years ago that still has a gorgeous luster

Glass is molten sand without any specific structure, just an amorphous mass
Adding metal oxide crystals magically transforms it into fine crystal glass

When cut Crystal glassware causes sparkling rainbow-like dispersion of light
Giving a touch of class that suggests sophistication that seems just right

A bowl of fruit suddenly becomes the pièce de résistance that all notice
The light and shadow seductively tango together like a shimmering lotus

Baccarat, Waterford and Swarovski are expensive brands that people desire
Each captures the soul of the craftsman as a fine work of art shaped by fire

Lemons 🍋, Tony. Having lived in the Mediterranean climate (yes, San Francisco Bay Area is blessed with Mediterranean climate) it still amazes me when I see a 4 foot high citrus tree with literally 300 fruit.
Meyer lemons are highly sought after due to their exquisite flavor - Kieran

My sister has a Meyer lemon tree in her backyard in the Bay Area. They planted it in the late 80s when they bought the house. It still gives hundreds of the juiciest and tastiest lemons. (WhatsApp reply from another classmate on the same chat group)

Fantastic, then you know exactly what I mean. My wife makes the most delicious lemon squares, a moist lemon cake and we freeze the lemon juice in ice trays. Beats the store bought bottled stuff by miles - Kieran

Kieran - you seem to be creating stuff faster than we can consume. Hats off to your creative quotient ! The world is a better place for such creation. (WhatsApp reply from another classmate on the same chat group)

Thanks Mama. It’s the magical world of the gift economy - sharing without expecting anything in return. Truth be told I enjoy the creative process a lot, sharing it just spreads that joy. Really thrilled to have you my friends on this art journey… Kieran

Thanks Arjun. Waiting for others to share their creations. Monty writes poetry (as does Nilu), Jean and Ronny write wonderful blogs and Tessy paints …
