I really like this one. How skillfully you have captured the reflection. A person reflecting on the serene reflection of the surrounding and perhaps on the course of his/her life. (A dear friend on WhatsApp)
Nicely put, dear Elaine. Minimalism gives space for various interpretations. Thanks for sharing yours. ππΌ - Kieran

❤️. Interestingly enough, Schindler’s List where there was a small girl in a red coat, and she was in stark contrast to the otherwise grayscale movie. (A friend on WhatsApp)
Thanks Joe. Minimalistic Art is so interesting … the viewer fills in details - Kieran

The first thought that came up ?
That this us a glacial lake at the base of Kanchenjunga, where we had trekked. What is your thought ? (A classmate who trekked with me in Sikkim commenting on WhatsApp)
Well said … I can sense all of those. Mankind is so puny in the vastness of God’s creation. We sometimes forget how vulnerable we truly are, albeit behind our walled gated homes - Kieran

Metaphorically very timely given the announcement of the ceasefire in the Himalayas. (A friend on WhatsApp)
Hadn’t thought of it that way, @~Bhavesh - the mighty Himalayas having witnessed all the follies of men, must be shaking it’s proverbial head at this latest insanity called war. - Kieran

Reflections…. So perfect, it’s hard to tell what’s real and what’s not… isn’t our world we live in the same? All we all living in a world of reflections? (A friend on WhatsApp)
Perfectly said @~Amita - I too had a Nolanesque Inception-like feeling. Thanks for sharing your Instagram pixs on reflections - you have quite the π️… ππΌππΌππΌ - Kieran

I first had thoughts of Alaskan mountains and glaciers due to the black, gray white. Then noticed the figure walking with an umbrella. Reflections is just right… peaceful as well! (A dear friend on WhatsApp)
Haha. Well that would surely be true had I not painted it last night. I do however get up around 5:30 am Pacific time. Early to bed, early to rise… sorta kinda healthy but still wait for the wealth and wisdom π- Kieran

Without even expanding the image, it struck me that the reflection is not a "mirror image"...there is a sameness and yet there is difference...look at the birds...one seems to be flying in and the other flying out...I see it as a change and yet, no change... -(A friend on WhatsApp)
Good feedback- there are always many layers to minimalistic paintings- Kieran

You asked that comes to mind. I have been thinking and thinking. Sincerely my first was a memorable trip to a beach in Malad, Madh island beach weekend where we stayed and looking out of the window scene of the white sandy beach when it rained. Don’t know if it makes any sense but the memories of this weekend is still very fresh. ππΉ ( A very dear friend on WhatsApp)
Origin and Significance of Stained Glass Stained glass has ancient roots, but it became especially prominent during the medieval period, particularly in Christian church architecture. The earliest known examples of coloured glass date back to ancient Egypt and Rome used decoratively in windows and mosaics. In the 12th–15th century, stained glass became a hallmark of Gothic cathedrals in Europe, reaching its peak in France, England, and Germany. Biblical Storytelling: In a largely illiterate society, stained glass windows illustrated scenes from the Bible saints’ lives, and moral lessons, serving as a visual scripture for the masses. Spiritual Atmosphere: The interplay of light and colour symbolized divine presence, aiming to elevate the worshipper's spirit and represent heavenly light entering sacred space. Stained glass contributed to the aesthetic grandeur of cathedrals like Chartres and Notre Dame. It influenced architectural design, as Gothic a...
Pope Leo XIV On Thursday, May 8, 2025, the Conclave of 133 Roman Catholic Cardinals elected a new Pope for 1.4 billion faithful, the 267th in the line of Pontiffs that dates back to St Peter, who was handpicked by Jesus Christ himself. [ Matthew 16:18 ] Before he was elected Pope Leo XIV, Chicago-born Cardinal Robert Frost Prevost spent much of his life outside the United States. Ordained in Rome in 1982 at age 27, he received a doctorate in canon law at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas, also in Rome. For the past two decades he was a missionary in Chilayco, Peru, serving as a parish priest, seminary teacher, and diocesan official. Here he also became a naturalized citizen, then rose to lead his international religious community, the Order of St. Augustine. Under Pope Francis, he held one of the most influential Vatican posts, running the office that selects and manages bishops globally. His deep connection to Latin America helped him gain a...
My homage to Azulejos - the striking white and blue ceramic tiles of Portugal. The name 'azulejos' is derived from the Arabic word 'al zuleique', which means “little polished stone”. The tiles were originally brought to Europe by invading Moors in the 13th century - a style that employs flowing lines, stars, flowers, foliage, fruits and sometimes animal and figural outlines to produce an intricate pattern of interlaced lines that can be tiled in endless combinations. The art and history of azulejos have left an indelible mark on Portuguese culture and heritage. These vibrant and intricate tiles have adorned buildings, churches, and public spaces for centuries, captivating the eyes and hearts of locals and visitors alike. The enduring legacy of Portuguese tile-making is a testament to the skill, creativity, and craftsmanship of the artisans who have dedicated themselves to this art form throughout history. This is one of my compositions inspired by a window decal at...

First prosaic thing that came to my mind is 'every action has equal and opposite reaction '
Second thing crossed my mind is 'everything beautiful has its own image to double our joy to behold it ' ❤️ (A friend on Signal)
