Rocks and Flowers

Rocks and Flowers

Watercolor painting by Kieran Gonsalves (c) 2026, inspired by an artist who paints only wildflowers amidst rocks. It gave me great joy to visualise the different colours and texture that abound in nature, and I hope it brightens up your day too

Thank you Kieran. You know, all kinds of everything remind me of you.....? This painting. Ashok and I got a lot of pleasure from exactly this...wildflowers. One memorable time was at Point Lobos ...it is etched in my brain and heart. Just standing there, holding hands and marveling at God's creation. We thought how blessed we were to be together, to have the time, then come upon this gift of beauty. (WhatsApp comment from a very dear friend who recently lost her husband Ashok)

Thanks, Hillary. I remember chasing after butterflies with you. They go wherever wildflowers grow - Kieran

Have you used Payne's gray, too? I can sense the blue undertones. (WhatsApp comment from a dear friend who closely follows my artwork)

I learned about Payne's grey from you only! Yes, you would make an EXCELLENT ART TEACHER, too! (Reply to above comment)

You must be finding it therapeutic and cathartic. (Reply to above comment also on WhatsApp)

Yes, it is both. Just living in the moment, trying different things, having fun, sharing freely. No commerce. No pressure - Kieran

Thank you, yes it's a different feeling when does it without vanity or monetary considerations. I'm still learning and there is so much to explore ... not ready to teach anything but if someone gets inspired then I delighted to be the catalyst for them to start their own art journey - Kieran

Build a “no matter what” habit.
One thing you do every day regardless of mood, chaos, or excuses.
Ten minutes of writing.
A short walk.
A chapter read.
These become our anchors.
The habit is not the point; who we become by keeping it is important.
Our "non-negotiables" are a powerful force for keeping us upright.
Over time, that single promise becomes self-trust.
Good Afternoon 🌞
Blessed Sunday. (WhatsApp comment from a dear friend in Pune)
